If you saw Marvel’s September solicitations yesterday you might have noticed Leonard Kirk’s name in the X-Factor listing. The artist confirms on his blog that he is working on the book now with his former Supergirl collaborator, writer Peter David. And he shares a whole bunch of sketches of the characters from the book, such as the above Madrox; head over there to check them out.

ehh cool.

Michael PJune 15, 2011 at 11:51 am

Cool. I enjoyed Kirk’s work on Atlas, MI13, and Supergirl, and we already know he and PAD are a good fit.

The_LivewireJune 15, 2011 at 12:17 pm

The team with no last name, back together again.

Elayne RiggsJune 15, 2011 at 1:21 pm

Not the entire team, Livewire. But Leonard is going to ink himself, so no work for my husband (again)…

Simon DelMonteJune 15, 2011 at 1:37 pm

I hope this lasts. X-Factor is one of Marvel’s best written comics, but it suffers from inconsistent art and high turnover.

ZachJune 15, 2011 at 6:50 pm

Kirk’s awesome, but I hope that italian lady they have drawing the book now lands somewhere good. She’s awesome.

Help artist Chris Wozniak, who lost his home in a tornado

Tweet Chris and Debra Wozniak

Friends of comic artist Chris Wozniak and his wife Debra have set up a Facebook page and PayPal account in support of the couple, who lost their home in a tornado that hit Tuscaloosa, Ala. on April 27.

“Their house was destroyed beyond words,” The Facebook page reads. “By the Grace of God, Chris some how made it out with his two dogs and is at a Red Cross Rescue Center. Debra was at work and also at a center.”

Wozniak has worked on several books for Marvel and DC in the 1980s and 90s, including Excalibur, Star Trek and the Spectre. More recently he worked on his own comics, including Bitter Midgets and the Marauders from Galaxy X.

Wozniak spoke with New York’s WPIX about the tornado:

He’s also provided updates on the Facebook page, including devastating photos of where his home once stood.

Crap. Had no idea Wozniak was local. (Well, almost — I’m in Montgomery, maybe a couple of hours east of Tuscaloosa; by great fortune, we experienced nothing more that night than an unusually steady wind & some routine rainfall.)

Thanks Dan Bailey, I’m glad you got one sentence in that wasn’t all about you. I’m sure it helps Wozniak that you get “nothing more that night than an unusually steady wind & some routine rainfall.”

Thank you for posting the two videos as well.
It helps to put a face to the name… and makes it all too real!
